Lightning visits home and hospital end of May

So, the end of May my first foster family picked me up from Gail's house for a visit. I swam with Star as shows in the previous post and we had a couple of playdates. A few days after I got back to Gail's, she took me to college at HQ in Grand Rapids. I passed my temprament test.... yaaaay! Mama was proud! But it was decided that my sister (Lia) and I might be more suited to being seeing eye dogs. So we are in training at Leader Dog. Mom called yesterday and I am in phase 2 of the 4 phases. LD says the PAWS puppies are almost always successful in this job.

We visited Jane and Ukon in the hospital while I was at home.
Ukon relaxed with us there.
I sucked on my Pooh Bear.
Andrea and Dan seem to like Ukon and I think it's mutual.

Even at home I was sucking Pooh Bear and my teddy bear.

Tiring work this!

AWANA

My mama is so proud of me. I can do a sit stay and focus on Mom when kids are running, screaming, and even rolling tires around me. I love those AWANA kids.
I leave Thursday... April 2nd to go to my new raiser. Mom says I'm going to learn physics. You knew I was smart, but I bet you didn't know I was that smart!

Another picture from Coney

My friend Tresa's mom got a picture of the two of us.
I wish they would have taken capes and leashes off and let us run and run and wrestle. We could really have a blast!

Friends welcome spring

We spent time with friends this afternoon at Coney and had a great time.
It's kind of sad though because my friend Kingsley leaves for college next week and Karson is going somewhere around the same time. I am leaving too in about five weeks.
Aunt Jane held Nigel and Friday while Ukon was napping next to her.
Macy is as wonderful as she is beautiful...
Friday got passed around a lot.
Here's Kingsley. He is ready to head off to school, but his family and friends will miss him.

Both kinds of Fridays are FUN!

The weather was warm and we played all day!
Friday came over so I could wear him out for our presentation at the elementary school. We were promoting PAWS to READ which raises disability awareness, funds for my college, and encourages kids to read - a win/ win situation!

Suzanne was there with Friday's sister Frisco... she was very entertaining while Suzanne talked. Chris and I were up next, and then Joe and Adam. Adam can pick up something as small as a dime for Joe, and he picks up water bottles and helps with laundry. He can leave a chocolate bar lying in front of his nose and never act like he even wants it. Friday mostly slept (I did a good job for Andrea) and then he let the kids pet him while he did a controlled greeting sit.
We came home and played in my yard some.
Friday is irresistably cute!
I turn 11 months old tomorrow!
I think Annie kinda likes Friday, but she will never admit it.
Later we went to Cooks and met cows. I can't believe I was afraid of them when I was little. They smell wonderful! Friday was a little afraid at first, then wanted to play with them.
Our mom's said we needed to go home and get a bath. What a waste of all that gooooood fragrance!
Here is a video of the three of us with the cows... enjoy!

Visiting

I got to spend some time with Andrea this week.

She made me listen like Mom does, but I like to snuggle, so I didn't mind.

I met Andrea's friend Brittany.
I tried to help with Andrea's homework, but it was sooo boring I fell asleep.
Me and Andrea had to work. I like Andrea's work. Here I am on the job!
Here are some videos of us...

Working Hard at Somerset with my Friends

My class went to a big fancy mall to work. It was snowy out, so not too many people were there.
My sister Lia and I got a chance to visit. If you can't tell, I'm on the left.

Here we are... L to R at the far end was Lia, then Seymour (spelling?), Tresa, Joplin, and Me. Mom says SEMI needs more black dogs, but we are a great looking bunch. The handsome Joplin-

Beautiful little Tresa-

Seymour modeling the new cape- Me, Lightning -

At the end there were kids dressed up waiting to see Santa and grown-ups that wanted to ask about us and shake our paws.

Working Girl, Lightning

My mom didn't get the camera out until it was time to go home, but after today I understand why Mom gets so tired when she works. When I first got there I checked out the boss's office, because there is usually a treat in there. Surprise... there was another dog, her name was Sally and we played and played. Then we got water and played some more. I guess you could say Sally was my co-worker.
This was my mom's co-worker, Audrey, and she understands that dogs need to be petted. I liked working, but it was tiring.
The most tiring part was the walk home. I tried to lie down in a shady gutter, but Mommy gave me a drink and helped me keep walking.

Panera Excursion

My mom took me to Panera via my brother's car. I was very good and she did a lot of homework there. She drank coffee and I got to eat ICE! yum!!!
